Prizes and Awards

During the dinner on Saturday 14th October the following FIDEM prizes and awards were given:

The FIDEM Grand Prix was awarded to Grazyna Jolanta Lindau from Switzerland for her medal Dementia.

The young artist award by Bogomil Nikolov was awarded to Kiki Birtles (UK) for her medal Inherited.

The collectors’ award by Bogomil Nikolov went to João Duarte, who has recently presented his collection of contemporary Portuguese medals to the Municipal Museum of Crato.

The Pro Liberalitate Tua medal by Bogomil Nikolov was awarded to Alain Baron for his generous support of the exhibition catalogue.


The FIDEM medal
by Anna Wątróbska-Wdowiarska (Poland) were given to Valeria Vettorato for her invaluable work on the exhibition and catalogue, to Rosa Maria Villani for arranging the competition for the official medal at the Scuola dell’Arte della Medaglia, and to Matteo Parri and Caterina Dali of Picchiani & Barlacchi for facilitating the visit to the firm and helping to make the congress such a success.

The young artists under the age of 30 who received a bursary to travel and attend the congress received their diplomas as well during this dinner.


 

During the General Assembly the following prizes were given:

The Mel Wacks Judaica Art Medal Award was given to Hanna Jelonek (Poland)

The George Cuhaj Prize for young artists under the age of 30 was awarded to Stancheva Vasilena (Bulgaria)

The Ann and Jason Pollack Award was awarded to Lavy Tal (Israel)

Art Valley 51 prizes by Paul Huybrechts were given to Tong Fang (China), Beni Debacker (Belgium), Eugene Daub (US), Anna Watrobska-Wdowiarska (Poland) and Janis Strupulis (Latvia)

The Order of Chiquita by James Malone Beach was awarded to Marie-Astrid Voisin Pelsdonk.
